I'm excited to say that I now have my first week back to school done and planned!!! It took me forever - because I'm juggling that and twins of course - but it was so worth it. I loved every minute of sitting and thinking, creating and planning. Such a joy! *Pushing up nerd glasses now* The concepts I'm teaching that week (April 8 - 12) are:
Fact and Opinion
Subtraction w/ Borrowing
I just wanted to share some of the things I made/found with you that I'll be using in my plans :)
First off - I'm in LOVE with this new book. I love using literature to help introduce concepts, especially in math. But when I found this book - my jaw dropped. It's called Joe Bright and the Seven Genre Dudes. Can you say FANTASTIC!? This story is a spin-off of Snow White. The evil queen instead is a famous storyteller. Snow White is Joe Bright, another up and coming storyteller. And the dwarfs are the Seven Genre Dudes. The story is not only adorable, but it introduces students to different genres!! I am in love with this book and can't wait to make resources for it! If you've used it - please let me know how!
Next, I'm so ready for SPRING to be here!! It's our school's spring break right now - but yet we just got 8+ inches of snow yesterday! So tired of this weather!! So in hopes that spring will be here soon, I created a very simply Fact/Opinion Springtime activity. This simple activity has students looking at fun, spring clipart and writing facts and opinions about them. Easy, fun, and yet it teaches the concept! You can grab it for FREE by clicking the picture below. :) If you grab it, please leave some feedback!!
I'm also very excited to share my ROCKS unit I created. I decided to incorporate some science in our writing when I get back and rocks just sounded like a fun idea!! There are so many great rock products on TPT but I couldn't find one that had the experiments I wanted WITH journal pages. So I created my own!! You can check it out by clicking on the picture below!! I can't wait to get it started and post some pictures for you all! :)
Finally, I wanted to reveal the ANSWER to my 2 Truths and a Lie post. You can find that post HERE. I had two readers guess the right answer! The LIE was #2!! I never studied in Spain. I wish I had!! The bank robbery and the ESPN are both true :) I was fun reading and guessing everyone else's lies as well.
Thanks for reading! Have a great Tuesday!
