AND - if you are a Facebook fan - there's a special buy 2 get 1 free going on.  If you haven't like my Facebook page yet, make sure you do so!  I post lots on there about new products and special offers and giveaways.  It's great!

I hope everyone out there has a happy and blessed Easter.  Today is the day the Lord has made - let us REJOICE and be glad!

A Few New Products!

I have been working like a DOG lately.  Besides the twins, I've been trying to get things planned for my return to the teaching world.  But one thing I've LOVED about it is I'm finally getting some amazing products finished.  I just wanted to quickly share them with all of you!

We are doing Author's Purpose upon my return so I made two fun activities.  The first is a Swipe game (one of my many!) and the second is an Author's Purpose PowerPoint and Coloring Activity.  Check them out! (Click on the images to see!)

I'm also teaching Perimeter when I get back.  So I made these two adorable products.  The first one has students practicing finding the perimeter of polygons using street signs.  The second is an ADORABLE perimeter project where the students help Farmer Frank design his new farm.  They must find out how much wood he needs to build his animal pens.  It's seriously too cute.  Probably one of my favorites now.  I hope you check them out too!

I probably won't post again until after Easter.  I'm wishing all of you the BEST and most blessed Easter weekend.  :)

(Freebie) Genres, Fact/Opinion, Rocks, OH MY!

I'm excited to say that I now have my first week back to school done and planned!!!  It took me forever - because I'm juggling that and twins of course - but it was so worth it.  I loved every minute of sitting and thinking, creating and planning.  Such a joy! *Pushing up nerd glasses now*  The concepts I'm teaching that week (April 8 - 12) are:

Fact and Opinion
Subtraction w/ Borrowing

I just wanted to share some of the things I made/found with you that I'll be using in my plans :)

First off - I'm in LOVE with this new book.  I love using literature to help introduce concepts, especially in math. But when I found this book - my jaw dropped.  It's called Joe Bright and the Seven Genre Dudes.  Can you say FANTASTIC!?  This story is a spin-off of Snow White.  The evil queen instead is a famous storyteller.  Snow White is Joe Bright, another up and coming storyteller.  And the dwarfs are the Seven Genre Dudes.  The story is not only adorable, but it introduces students to different genres!!  I am in love with this book and can't wait to make resources for it!  If you've used it - please let me know how!

Next, I'm so ready for SPRING to be here!!  It's our school's spring break right now - but yet we just got 8+ inches of snow yesterday!  So tired of this weather!!  So in hopes that spring will be here soon, I created a very simply Fact/Opinion Springtime activity.  This simple activity has students looking at fun, spring clipart and writing facts and opinions about them.  Easy, fun, and yet it teaches the concept! You can grab it for FREE by clicking the picture below. :)  If you grab it, please leave some feedback!!

I'm also very excited to share my ROCKS unit I created.  I decided to incorporate some science in our writing when I get back and rocks just sounded like a fun idea!!  There are so many great rock products on TPT but I couldn't find one that had the experiments I wanted WITH journal pages. So I created my own!!  You can check it out by clicking on the picture below!!  I can't wait to get it started and post some pictures for you all! :)

Finally, I wanted to reveal the ANSWER to my 2 Truths and a Lie post.  You can find that post HERE.  I had two readers guess the right answer!  The LIE was #2!!  I never studied in Spain.  I wish I had!!  The bank robbery and the ESPN are both true :)    I was fun reading and guessing everyone else's lies as well.

Thanks for reading!  Have a great Tuesday!

Two Truths and a Lie Linky!!

So I couldn't help but join in on this very fun get to know you game!!  I LOVE playing this with the kids at the beginning of the year.  I tell them its the only day this year where they are allowed to LIE to the teacher!!  Haha.  And the lies they come up with for the game are hilarious to boot!!  So - here I go!!!

#1 - I have witnessed a bank robbery.  I was 10 year old and my mother and I were in line at the bank in a Marsh supermarket.  The guy in front of us had a cloth bag in his hand.  When it was his turn - he robbed the bank at gunpoint!  He ran out of the market and my mom then ran after him!  She ended up getting his license plate number and gave it to the police.  They captured him and the money hours later :)

#2 - When I was in college, I took one summer and studied overseas in Spain.  My minor was spanish so I combined my love for teaching and spanish and did a study abroad in Madrid.  It was the most beautiful place I had ever been to!!  The food, the culture, and the amazing people make Madrid one of the best places to visit!  I learned so much about teaching and the differences between the U.S. and Spain when it comes to education.  My best friend at the time was in the same program.  He loved Madrid so much he ended up moving back when he graduated!

#3 - I danced for 20 years (since I was 3 until 23).  My high school dance team was so good - we made it to finals in Orlando, Florida and were on ESPN!!  I went to minor in dance in college, but was in a bad car accident that hurt my back.  I had to quit my class I was in and ended up not getting back into it. :(

Ok - there you go!!  If you can guess the lie I will send you my Part of Speech Swipe game for FREE!!  Just post your guess and your E-MAIL in the comments.  I'll secretly send you the game if you guess the lie.  This offer ends Friday at midnight!  Want to join the linky?  Click the picture at the top to head over to Flying into First Grade!  Now, I'm off to guess other people's lies!  Have fun!

And The Countdown Begins... (Freebie)

So I officially have 4 weeks left of my maternity leave..  Yes, that's still a long time but boy I know it will fly by and I'm not looking forward to it!  I am excited to get back into the classroom and to see my kids again, but leaving these two little ones - just not going to be fun! :(  So my plan is in the next 4 weeks to get 4 weeks of school planned.  That way I'm planned 4 weeks ahead and can spend as MUCH time in the evenings and weekends with the family as I can.  I'm so used to spending my downtime working on 'school' things that I want to be as prepared as possible.  Let's hope my 'plan' goes well!  Ha!

With that being said, I'm excited to be making new items to share with everyone since I'll be planning!! It's been very hard creating items when I'm really not in school.  I was completely caught up when I left on leave as far as my 'create items' to do list was concerned.  I think I did well though!  I made 4 SNATCH games, a St. Patrick's Day Unit and a March Madness Day Unit!  I'm pretty happy with that :)

So I'd like to present to you my newest product:  March Madness Literacy and Math Unit

                                                       (Click Picture to See!)

Here's a freebie from the Unit!
(Click to grab!)

This unit is so full of fun, amazing ideas and games.  I really hope you check it out! :)  The 5th person to comment on this post will snatch this unit for FREE!

I hope all of your Monday's went well today

New Blog Design!!

I am SOOO excited to finally show off my NEW blog design!!  I did love my old one (hornets) but I wanted something to reflect me more than my school.  I love the shabby new blog design.  I know its not 'schooly' (like how I invented a new word?)  but its me :)  So I have to give a huge shout out and thank you to Christi Fultz from Ms. Fultz's Corner.  She does such an amazing job working with people getting exactly what they want.  I would recommend her in an instant!!  Click on her button below to go to her design page and check her out!
